Ruto taking Kenya to a global stage

I sometimes wonder how President William Ruto is dismissed as a political and leadership failure by some people who know little about the difficult choices and meaningful reforms required to improve the lives of citizens.

From the time President Mwai Kibaki won the 2002 elections, through the turbulence that followed the disputed 2007/08 elections, and throughout the ten years of President Uhuru Kenyatta's administration, Kenya never witnessed this level of engagement on platforms such as the G7. Today, Kenya has a voice at some of the world's most influential tables.

One may disagree with President Ruto's policies, but leadership should be judged fairly and in totality. Real transformation demands tough decisions, economic restructuring, and deliberate efforts to position Kenya strategically in the global arena. International recognition does not solve all domestic challenges, but it reflects a country's growing diplomatic relevance and the confidence that global actors place in its leadership.

Criticism is healthy in a democracy, but it should be anchored in facts rather than emotion. Meaningful change is not achieved overnight. It requires vision, resilience, and the courage to undertake reforms whose benefits may only become evident with time.
